Pivot Stool

An ergonomic stool but well balanced proportion of the aesthetic to function named Pivot Stool is designed for adapting all kinds of different seat position without restricting body movement.

The simple but iconic shape stool made by specialised craftsman consists of three simple parts truncated cone, wooden concave pedestal, and upholstered pout.

Its ball joint-like upholstered pouf allow keep an angle while sit on it due to friction between material.

This feature enable to leading to right sitting position, or finding relax position.

We believe that a designer has a mission of that brings product meaningful like respect for craftsman or function in the society with using original aesthetic philosophy.

Pivot Stool was born in idea of respect for craftsmanship. 

Hyogo Kobayashi, his studio from0 in Yoshino Nara Japan, is a craftsman for specialised in woodturning particularly using Japanese cypress or cedar wood. 

 

An ergonomic structure has been achieved by his excellent handworks, as well as they are reveal every single detail in Pivot Stool even though simple and clean form but well-considered woodturning techniques.

Therefore, Pivot Stool has stunning feature of the best proportion in aesthetic to function.

HOW application 

Ball joint-like upholstered pouf allow keep an angle from 0 to 25 degree which is based on ergonomics while sit on it due to friction between material. The core inside of it is made of bonded timber scraps.

Pouf

Made of Japanese cypress which is wood turned by craftsman features concave shape, and it brings smooth movement of body position.

Middle base

The Japanese traditional technique of “Taru” inspired lower base is also made by wood turning finish.

WHAT / implementation

Pivot Stool allows to leading to right sitting position, or finding relax position. They have vary of 5 colours available.
